2008 Shadow Theater Workshop

The workshop uses the practices of shadow puppetry and human body installation as a foundational exercise for animation students. The project begins with students examining their own personal experiences which they will uses as the basis for developing their final performance. Over the course of the workshop, students explore the mediums of shadow puppetry and human body installations, immersing themselves in the artistic and technical challenges of using light, movement, the human body, and music as they stage their original productions. The workshop provides students with a creative space to hone the skills that will serve as the foundation for their future work as animation artists.
